March 26th, 2021 marked another 90 days and another mitosis behind me!
I remember when I was just starting this protocol and could not wait to finish my first mitosis. It seemed so far away, now I have 3 under my belt and I'm still moving forward. Although, not going to lie, this mitosis was a roller coaster.
Before we dive in, It's important you understand the first couple months of this mitosis.
I think most of the stuff I make is ugly.
I'm just not a naturally talented person. And, the discipline to stick to one thing until I've mastered it, well, that just isn't in my design (Manifesting Generator). That doesn't mean I don't keep trying. I do, I just tend to make a lot of ugly things along the way as I ping from one thing to the next, following what inspires me.
I have this screaming need to make.
It can keep me up at night if it isn't satiated. So, I continue on making junk and living life. Someone who continues to inspire me along my making journey is The Purple Palace. And, one of her recent videos, along with inspiration from one of my closest friends (hi Kendra!), has inspired me to start making ugly paintings and more YouTube videos about the projects I'm working on.
It's still snowing outside...
Seeing all that cold white snow has me missing those warm Santa Barbara winters that I was lucky enough to enjoy for 9 whole years. One of things I loved about living in SB were the vast amount of Bird of Paradise flowers everywhere year round. So, I created a warm little slice of SB today from my art studio far away in ice cold Germany. This wallpaper design will be available for purchase as soon as the swatch arrives on my doorstep. Check it out on my surface and textile design site Dolphin and Condor.
Hi, I'm Dana.
I'm an American living in rural Bavaria. I love art, design, vintage goods, healthy living, and weirdo fringe stuff.
