Moral of the story, if you can't poop, consider digestive enzymes. Can you make big bucks buying clothes at Goodwill Outlet and selling them on Thredup?I've been wondering about this hustle for awhile. I love thrifting and digging for treasure. I love having a reason to hit the bins and I love making money. I was made for this hustle. Let's do this.
Last year I dove into Spoonflower's textile design contests.Although I have fun making the designs I enter, I'd say my most favorite part is scrolling through all the entires. It's amazing to see how differently each of us expresses each contest theme. One thing I started to pick up on were trending styles. As I'd scroll I would see 6, 7, or more of the same style of design and even though a lot of these contests have thousands of entries, I found myself thinking about these trends and I thought I'd post about them occasionally. Below are the trends I've spotted in recent contests. Flora/Fauna Art DecoThis trend follows the shapes of a popular art deco pattern of fan shaped objects set in a half brick repeat but expands to natural elements like wild flowers and grasses. Frosted Nature DamaskWild flowers, insects, forest creatures, and more. This nature driven damask style keeps popping up with slightly different creatures and flowers but always a frosty white over a more colorful background solid. Bright Flowers with Dark Silhouetted LeavesOld is new again with this simple floral trend featuring slightly detailed flowers paired with dark silhouetted leaves and a simple color palette. Retro Japanese WavesPart psychedelic 70s design, part Japanese woodblock carved waves, this trend features circular shapes filled with rings of color reminiscent of undulating waves. I unknowingly participated in this trend with my design Lori that I created in 2012. I thought it would fit the color palette requirements of that particular contest where you had to feature Panatone's Color of the Year Very Peri.
