It's weird, I had been meaning to make a post about this design.

It used to look like this:

I made this monstrosity in 2009. New to design and new to textiles, I based the design off of a couch from Kazakhstan that I saw somewhere on the internet. 

Earlier this year (11 years later) I was feeling inspired and went digging through my old design files. I stopped at this design and thought, I can do better. 

So, I made these. 

And, then I thought, again, I can do better. What a difference a color palette makes?

Then, I created a couple variations from there:
