I made this design right after smoking DMT.I don't mess with drugs anymore.
But, during college, I liked to smoke a bit of weed and once a year do mushrooms. One night while listening to Coast to Coast, I heard Clifford Pickover talk about DMT. I was fascinated but also completely repulsed by the idea. So, there's this crazy strong psychedelic out there that bursts you through into another dimension where you can talk to elves... Why would ANYONE ever want to do that? Little did I know that 10 years later (after a TON of research), I would be sitting in the grass staring at the mountains in Santa Barbara experiencing a full ego loss after passing through the chrysanthemum. I regained my ego when I looked down and saw my legs. I remembered I had a body and could not believe that I had to haul my spirit around in such a heavy meat suit. My legs looked so clunky, like when you see a computer from the 80s and wonder how the hell anyone got anything done on that thing. The experience made me think of something that I used to do almost every single night as a kid. I would leave my body. I don't blame you if you think I'm crazy. I probably wouldn't believe it if I hadn't experienced it myself. At night, while laying in bed and still very much awake, I discovered if I held my body completely still and breathed in and out slowly, all of a sudden, I could zip around at light speed above my body. It would often make my stomach flip and flutter, like experiencing zero g's on a rollercoaster. Whenever the experience became too intense, all I had to do was move my pinky finger, twitch my toes, or open my eyes and it would stop in an instant. Soooooo, anyway, I cleaned up the repeat for this design and created this new color way for it! You can shop DmTessellation by clicking the button below 😉
